What is Google Ad Planner design for?
If you’re a media planner working for ad agency, your planning of online ads can be challenging, with you needing to extend your campaign’s reach while keeping your sites relevant for your target audience. Also how else is the best way to track the millions of websites your potential target audience use?
Google has introduced Google Ad Planner, which is an online media and research planning tool that connects the publishers of content and you the advertiser. When using Google Ad Planner, you can select your segments.

• Country
• Language
• Age
• Education
• Income Levels
Only in the United States can you break down your data by Gender, which is disappointing but likely due to privacy and limited accurate data. The strength of Google Ad Planner is that it is a perfect tool for online content placement campaigns. As you can analyse the sites, to determine what other related sites they visit or even what keywords they use mainly to get to these sites, to assist with your Adwords campaigns.

Google Ad Planner is designed to make all your research and media planning online easier and quicker, you can easily drill down into the data to get detailed information. If you see a website that interests you, click the graph button to view the stats on the website, or if you want to see what the site is, click the link and you are taken straight to the website.

Once you find a site that you like, you can simply add this to your media plan. You can open this media plan in most spreadsheet applications such as Google Docs to view the stats. You can potentially import this into your AdWords account for your site placement campaign. If you have external software such as MediaVisor, you can export to DoubleClick’s MediaVisor which is Google’s online media planning, buying and campaign management software.

How is the Ad Planner data Generated?
Google Ad Planner is a combination of information from a variety of sources across the Google network, such as search data, anonymous Google Analytics data, external consumer panel data and purchased 3rd party market research from a number of well respected companies such as Nielsen Online. The data is tabulated across millions of users and all personally-identifiable information is stripped out.

Are the new Google Trends for Websites & Google Ad Planner related products?
Yes, Google Trends for Websites is designed for all users, public and private but has limited features for exporting data. Google Ad Planner is designed for advertisers and agencies and offers features such as exporting options, and demographic estimates. This tool is currently in Beta testing stage, but we can work with you to implement a live Adwords campaign.
